Crown reduction
A crown reduction reduces the overall size of the tree. This reduces tip weight in the branches and allows air to travel through the canopy which allows more light to your property or area in question. Reducing your tree also allows us to selectively reduce branches into a controlled shape, which improves the health of the tree and the risk of falling branches.
Crown lifting
Crown lifting is a method where you selectively remove lower branches from the tree to allow a greater distance from the ground to the canopy. This is effective if a tree is close to the building/house and the branches are touching or impeding something like a light column. This also allows more light onto the surrounding area allowing other trees and shrubs to thrive.
Crown thinning
Crown thinning is a technique in which you remove internal branches to reduce the density. This does not alter the overall size of the tree but it does reduce the risk of damage from high winds. It also allows air to travel through the tree which improves the health of the tree. Crown thinning is a good way to improve fruit size and quality on trees such as apple trees, pear trees and similar species.
Dead wooding
Trees produce deadwood when a branch either dies or is not needed anymore. The reason for removing deadwood is to remove the risk of a piece falling from the tree and hurting someone or damaging something within the target area.
